This is a wonderful shot, Patti! I recently had the experience of having a baby look directly at me and connect, before she was fully born, and it gave me the absolute chills. Both the doctor and I (she got both of us!) shared how there was an energy shift when the baby caught our eyes! I love your photography and always appreciate your sharing!
wow I would ask if this is real except that I know it is, this little one looks so much like little person rather than a baby it is amazing. I have never seen anything like it before.
Many people have asked if this photo is for real. It most definitely is and I felt so fortunate to be able to capture that incredible birth when little Sophia looked up at the midwife with those huge, aware newborn eyes and that indescribable expression on her beautiful face. A mesmerizing and breathtaking moment in time.
Amazing to have caught a picture of it! I was a doula at a friends birth & I was the first person the baby saw. Eyes wide open & totally made eye contact with mine! Only his head was out at that point. We connected a few more times as we were trying to get him to get his shoulder out!
That picture gives me the chills! It's absolutely wonderful! Is it okay if I share this picture on my facebook "fan page" birthyourway.org childbirth education?
Such an incredible moment! I'm starting my doula training in the spring & I can't wait to become fully absorbed in beautiful and mesmerizing moments such as this one! Thank you for posting this!
What a treasure of a photo!! My son started crying when just his head was out. Mouth open, but eyes not.... Weird feeling to have a head on either side of your body making noise at the same time.
After reading a bunch of really depressing posts on Facebook, I came across yours. Now I can't stop smiling. All births are little miracles, but a natural birth just takes it to the next level. You won't see a baby that has been exposed to epidural anesthesia engaging like this! What an incredible picture!! Thanks for sharing. I'd love to be able to feature it on our natural parenting website.
Hi, Arrington here again. After a good night's sleep, I took another look at the picture and realized that this might not be a pain medication free birth (catheter, mother's position on back...). Anyway, I'm very curious to know more about the circumstances if you are willing to share, especially since the baby appears so with it (great eye contact & focus)!
